OUR VALUES
Here at Nelson Christian Academy we say and live out...
"We Are Whānau! We Show Resilience, We Seek Truth, We Show Integrity and We Give Honour."
At Nelson Christian Academy, we have Whānau Values. These four values are explicitly taught, encouraged and celebrated. They are woven throughout all of our school life. These values lay the foundation on which academic, social and personal success is developed.
These values underpin our Restorative Approach with our Whānau Support Programme (behaviour management).
RESTORATIVE PRACTICE
Our behaviour management is built around our Whānau Values and Restorative Practice, known as our
Whānau Support Programme
Our Whānau Support Programme is a relational approach to school life grounded in beliefs about equality, dignity, mana and the potential of all people. ... By building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships within a school, staff to staff, staff to student and student to student, issues are more easily managed.
